What is Aston Martin known for?
Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, and named after the Aston Clinton hill climb. It won Le Mans outright in 1959, and the DB5's appearance in Goldfinger in 1964 tied the marque to a particular idea of Britishness that it has never shaken off. The modern cars are built at Gaydon and St Athan, and the house style is consistent: front-engined, two doors, long bonnet, and a V8 or V12 that is tuned for sound as much as output.
