About Performance & Prestige

We own the cars. We bring them to you.

Performance & Prestige is a UK performance and prestige car hire and leasing company. We hire out our own fleet — we are the rental supplier on those vehicles, not a middleman — and arrange anything we do not hold through vetted partners, labelled as such. Every agreement is a lease of twelve months or more, quoted per month, with two months up front and 12,000 miles a year included. Every car is delivered to an address you choose in mainland Britain. There are no depots and no showroom.

What is Performance & Prestige?

Two halves, and the site is built so you can always tell them apart.

We are the rental company on our own cars

Every vehicle badged “In our fleet” belongs to us. We buy it, insure it, maintain it, prepare it and deliver it, and the hire agreement is with us. There is no third party between you and the car, which is why we can answer a question about availability rather than pass it on.

We arrange the rest, and we say which is which

Nobody owns every car worth hiring. When you want something we do not hold, we source it through a vetted partner and label it “We can source” everywhere it appears — its price is a guide and its availability is subject to confirmation until the partner confirms both. The badge is on the card, the vehicle page and the schema.

We deliver rather than trade from a forecourt

There are no depots, no branches and no counter. Every hire is delivered to an address you choose — home, office, hotel or somewhere you are travelling to — anywhere in mainland Britain, and collected from an address you choose afterwards.

A person handles it, start to finish

No instant booking engine, no card details taken on this website, and no automated quote. Someone checks the dates, the delivery address and the driver against what the insurer accepts for that specific car, and comes back to you the same working day with the whole figure.

Performance & Prestige leases vehicles from its own fleet and, where a vehicle is not one of ours, sources it through a vetted partner. Vehicles marked “we can source” are subject to confirmation before anything is agreed. Prices shown include VAT and are quoted per month on a twelve-month minimum term.

The difference

How are you different from a broker?

A broker introduces you to a rental company and takes a commission for the introduction. On the cars in our own fleet we are that rental company: the vehicle is ours, the rate is ours, the agreement is with us and so is the responsibility. Where we do act as an arranger — on a sourced car — we say so on the car itself.

Hiring from us on a fleet vehicle, compared with hiring through an introducer or broker
Question Us, on a fleet car A broker or introducer
Who you contract with Us, for anything in our own fleet. We are the supplier. The rental company they introduce you to.
Who owns the car We do, on fleet vehicles. Partner-supplied ones are badged as such. A third party, in every case.
Who answers “is it free on the 14th?” We do, from our own diary, for our own cars. They have to ask someone else and come back to you.
Who sets the rate We do on fleet cars, so the price is ours to stand behind. The supplier does; the introducer passes it on.
Who is responsible if the car is wrong We are. It is our vehicle, our preparation and our delivery. The supplying company, not the introducer.
How the business is paid You pay us the hire charge. There is no commission on a fleet hire. Commission from the supplier on an introduction.

Neither model is dishonest. They are different answers to “who is responsible for the car”, and you are entitled to know which one you are dealing with on any given vehicle — which is why the badge is on every card rather than in the terms.

How we operate

Where are you based?

We have no showroom, no depot and no counter, so there is nowhere to visit. Every car is delivered to an address you choose anywhere in mainland Britain and collected from an address you choose at the end of the hire.

That is a decision rather than a shortcoming. A hire counter costs the customer an hour each way, forces the handover to happen in public, and puts the car in front of whoever happens to be in the car park. Delivering it means the handover happens where you actually are, at a time that suits you, and nobody watches you collect it.

It also means we quote delivery and collection honestly, from your postcode, with the figure on the quote before you agree to anything.

How delivery works

Why it is built this way

Three decisions, and what each one costs us

Every one of these makes the business harder to run and easier to trust. That trade is the whole proposition, so it is worth setting out plainly rather than leaving you to infer it.

  1. One

We own stock instead of only introducing it

Owning cars means capital, insurance, maintenance, storage and the risk that a car sits still. An introducer carries none of that. What owning buys is the ability to answer “is it free on the 14th” from our own diary rather than by asking somebody else — and to stand behind a rate because it is ours to set.

The cost: our own fleet will always be smaller than the catalogue. So we label the difference on every card rather than blurring it.

  2. Two

We deliver instead of holding premises

A depot is a fixed cost, a queue and a car park full of strangers watching you collect something expensive. Delivering means every hire carries a driver and a journey at both ends, which is more work per booking, not less. It also means the handover happens where you actually are, at a time you set, with nobody watching.

The cost: there is nowhere to visit, and access has to be discussed rather than assumed.

  3. Three

We publish the whole cost before the form

The deposit, the excess, the mileage allowance and the per-mile charge are on every vehicle page, above the enquiry rather than inside a follow-up email. Publishing a five-figure deposit next to a monthly figure loses enquiries. It also means nobody arrives at a handover to find a number they were not told about, which is the single most common way this industry loses people for good.

The cost: we look more expensive than operators who mention the deposit later.

All three are checkable rather than asserted. The figures are on every vehicle page, the owned cars are listed on the fleet page, and the reasoning is worked through in the guides.

What we don’t claim

You will not find a star rating, a customer count, a wall of logos or a trade body badge on this site. That is not modesty — it is that none of them is true yet, and a fabricated trust signal is worse than an absent one.

  • No reviews or ratings, until there are real ones. When customers have reviewed us, their words go on the site with the detail intact and the rating markup goes on with them. Not before.
  • No trade body badge we have not earned. Membership badges are worth something precisely because they can be checked. Any we hold will be shown with the membership number so you can check it.
  • No invented availability. Nothing on this site tells you a car is “selling fast” or “only one left this weekend”. If a car is free for your dates you will be told so by a person; if it is not, you will be told that instead.
  • No price we cannot honour. A rate on a car we own is our confirmed rate. A rate on a car we source is labelled a guide until the partner confirms it, because that is what it is.

Company details

Our registered company details are not published on this website yet. They will appear here, and in the rental terms, before any booking is taken. If you need them sooner, ask us and we will send them to you.

Our website terms, rental terms, privacy policy and complaints procedure set out the rest.

About us — your questions

What is Performance & Prestige?

Performance & Prestige is a UK vehicle leasing company specialising in performance and prestige cars — supercars, sports cars, grand tourers, luxury SUVs and convertibles. An agreement runs for twelve months or longer: two months up front, then one a month, with 12,000 miles a year included as standard. We do not do daily, weekend or weekly hire. We lease our own fleet and source other vehicles through vetted partners. Every car is delivered to an address you choose in mainland Britain.

Do you actually own the cars?

We own the ones badged “In our fleet”, and those are listed in full on our fleet page — they are the cars we lease as well as rent. Cars badged “We can source” are not ours: they are arranged through a vetted partner, their price is a guide and their availability is confirmed with the partner before anything is agreed. We label every vehicle so you always know which you are looking at. The catalogue is also not the limit of what we can supply — if the car you want is not listed, ask.

Are you a broker?

Not on our own fleet. On those cars we are the rental supplier: we own the vehicle, we insure and maintain it, we set the rate and the hire agreement is with us. On a sourced vehicle we act as the arranger between you and the supplying partner, and we say so on the vehicle itself rather than in the small print.

Where are you based, and can I visit?

There is no showroom or depot to visit. We deliver every car to an address you choose anywhere in mainland Britain and collect it from an address you choose afterwards, which is deliberate: a delivered handover at your home or office is more discreet and more convenient than a counter, and it removes the drive back.

How do you make money?

From the hire charge. On a car in our own fleet you are paying us to hire our vehicle. On a sourced car the arrangement is between you and the supplying partner with us handling it, and the cost of that is in the rate you are quoted — the confirmed figure is given to you in writing before you commit either way.

Why are there no reviews or ratings on this website?

Because we have not earned any yet, and inventing them is not an option. When there are genuine customer reviews they will appear here, attributed and with the detail intact. The same applies to trade body membership and any award or accreditation: it goes on the site when it is real and verifiable, and not before.

Who insures the cars?

Vehicles in our own fleet are covered under self-drive hire insurance, and the driver criteria on each vehicle page — minimum age, years of full licence held and endorsement points — are what the insurer accepts for that car rather than a marketing preference. Full detail is on our insurance and excess page.

What areas do you cover?

Mainland Britain. We quote delivery and collection from the postcode you give us at the enquiry stage, and the figure is on your quote before you agree to anything rather than added afterwards.
