What is Lexus known for?
Toyota launched Lexus in 1989 with the LS 400, a car built to prove a Japanese manufacturer could out-engineer the German luxury establishment on refinement. It largely did, and the make has been built on quietness and reliability ever since. The LC 500 is the outlier and the reason Lexus belongs on a performance list: a 471bhp naturally aspirated 5.0 V8 in an era when almost every rival has turbocharged, in a body that reached production looking very close to the concept.
Lexus suits somebody who would rather the car never became a subject. Build quality and reliability are what the company was founded to prove, and its reputation for both is why people come back to it; the hybrids are quiet in town and the dealer service is unlike the German norm. What do I need to lease a Lexus?
