The engine was reworked for 656bhp, the front structure stiffened, the track widened, and the whole electronics package replaced. The result is far more serious than the outgoing car: rear-wheel drive, a lot of torque and a short wheelbase. It rewards a driver who reads the road, and it is honest about not flattering one who does not.
Is it easier to live with than a mid-engined supercar?
Considerably. The boot is a proper 346 litres under a hatchback tailgate, the driving position is conventional, and visibility is normal.
