These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the Alpine A110 S

It is a mid-engined two-seater weighing just over 1,100kg, with 296bhp from a 1.8-litre turbocharged four and 62mph in 4.2 seconds. We arrange it through partners, so the car and dates are confirmed first.

The lightest interesting car you can hire in Britain. The A110 makes its case with weight rather than power, and it is a completely different experience from anything else here.

At a glance

  • 296bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, 340Nm
  • Just over 1,100kg — several hundred kilos lighter than most rivals
  • 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds
  • Mid-engined, rear-wheel drive, bonded aluminium chassis
  • Two seats and two small boots, front and rear

Why is the Alpine A110 special?

Because of what it does not have. It weighs just over 1,100kg where a Porsche 718 Cayman is nearer 1,400 and a BMW M4 well over 1,700. Less weight means smaller brakes, softer springs and narrower tyres all do the job, so the car rides properly and still changes direction instantly.

How does the A110 S differ from the standard car?

Stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, larger brakes, wider tyres and more power — 296bhp against about 250bhp in the base car. The S is firmer and quicker, reaching 62mph in 4.2 seconds. The standard A110 rides better; the S is the one to take when the roads are good.

What does it cost to hire an Alpine A110 S?

Expect a refundable deposit near £2,500 and a matching insurance excess, with 12,000 miles a year included and about £1.50 a mile beyond. Figures are confirmed in writing before you commit.

Is it practical enough for a weekend away?

For two people, just about. There is a small boot behind the engine and another under the bonnet, which together take soft bags rather than suitcases. The cabin is snug and the seats are firm. Nobody hires an A110 for luggage capacity, but a weekend for two works.

These are insurance conditions for this vehicle, not preferences, so we check them when you enquire rather than on the doorstep.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the Alpine A110 S

Is the Alpine A110 automatic?

Yes. It uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddles behind the wheel. No manual gearbox was offered on this car, so there is no version to choose between.

How old do I need to be to hire an A110 S?

Partners typically ask for drivers aged 28 or over with at least five years on a full licence and no more than six penalty points. It is a light, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive car and insurers treat it accordingly.

Is the A110 comfortable on a long drive?

More than you would expect. The S is firm, but the suspension has real travel and the car is quiet enough at a motorway cruise. The limitation is space rather than ride quality.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the rental company, not a middleman. The rate shown is our rate and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, so the price shown is a guide and the availability is subject to confirmation. We confirm both with you before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

Not necessarily, but its rate is a guide until the partner confirms it. We come back to you with the confirmed figure before you commit — the price never changes on the day.

Tell us the dates. We’ll confirm the car.

Send us the dates and a delivery postcode — that is all we need to start. Someone here will come back to you with what is genuinely available and the full cost, deposit, excess and mileage included.
