These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the Aston Martin DBX

This is the standard V8 car: 542bhp from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo, all-wheel drive, five seats, a proper boot and 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. It is the calmer sibling to the 697bhp DBX707.

The DBX is Aston Martin's five-seat SUV in standard V8 form, sitting below the more aggressive DBX707.

At a glance

  • 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 542bhp, all-wheel drive
  • 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, 181mph top speed
  • Five seats and a boot that takes real luggage
  • Hand-trimmed cabin, built at Aston Martin's St Athan factory
  • Softer and quieter than the DBX707

What is the difference between the DBX and the DBX707?

Power, mainly. The standard DBX makes 542bhp from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8; the DBX707 takes the same engine to 697bhp with larger turbochargers, and adds a wet-clutch gearbox, bigger brakes and firmer suspension. The standard car is the more comfortable of the two, and on most journeys the difference in pace is academic.

Is the DBX practical?

Yes. It is a genuine five-seat SUV with a boot that takes a family's luggage, rear doors that open wide and a driving position high enough to see over traffic. The interior is hand-trimmed and the car is built in Wales, at Aston Martin's St Athan factory. It carries people, bags and dogs without feeling like a sports car in fancy dress.

When does an SUV make more sense than a sports car?

When there are more than two of you, when the weather is British, and when the drive is long. A DBX carries five people and their luggage at speed without anyone arriving stiff. It is also the sensible answer for winter dates, where a rear-drive supercar spends most of its time being careful.

What does a DBX cost to hire?

A refundable £7,500 deposit and a £7,500 insurance excess apply, with 12,000 miles a year included and £2.50 a mile beyond. Figures are guides on a sourced car and are confirmed in writing before you decide.

These are insurance conditions for this vehicle, not preferences, so we check them when you enquire rather than on the doorstep.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the Aston Martin DBX

Can I hire an Aston Martin DBX in the UK?

We can source one, subject to confirmation. We do not own the car, so we check with our partners against your dates and confirm the specific vehicle and its colour before the booking is fixed.

Is the DBX four-wheel drive?

Yes. Every DBX drives all four wheels, with an active anti-roll system that keeps the body flat through corners. It is a capable car in poor weather.

How many people does a DBX seat?

Five, with a boot large enough for their luggage. It is a full-size SUV rather than a coupe with a raised ride height.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the rental company, not a middleman. The rate shown is our rate and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, so the price shown is a guide and the availability is subject to confirmation. We confirm both with you before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

Not necessarily, but its rate is a guide until the partner confirms it. We come back to you with the confirmed figure before you commit — the price never changes on the day.

Tell us the dates. We’ll confirm the car.

Send us the dates and a delivery postcode — that is all we need to start. Someone here will come back to you with what is genuinely available and the full cost, deposit, excess and mileage included.
