What is a GT3 RS like on a public road?
Uncompromising. The suspension is set for a circuit, the cabin is stripped and loud, and the aerodynamics only earn their keep at speeds no British road offers. It is still extraordinary at 30mph, because the engine is one of the last of its kind. Most people take one for two or three days rather than a fortnight.
How is the RS different from a standard GT3?
Almost everywhere. It adds 15bhp, a far more aggressive aero package with an adjustable rear wing and a drag reduction system, centre-lock wheels, a wider track, and dials on the steering wheel that alter the dampers and the differential while you drive. It is roughly twice as effective aerodynamically and considerably less comfortable.
Can I take a GT3 RS on a track day?
Not under standard self-drive hire terms, because circuit use is excluded by the insurance. It has to be arranged specifically with the supplying partner, priced separately and agreed in writing beforehand. Give us the circuit, the date and the organiser at enquiry and we will find out whether it can be done rather than assume.
