What this lease costs

Everything below is stated before you enquire, not after. Nothing is taken through this website.

The agreement
Per month 3-month minimum term on request
Initial payment Taken on delivery, never online On request
Mileage Extra miles priced into the quote 1,000 miles a month
Deposit, excess and mileage
Refundable deposit £3,000
Insurance excess £3,000
Extra miles £1.50 a mile
Delivery and collection Quoted with your rate

All prices are "from" prices. What you are quoted can move with availability, which supplier the car comes from, its age and exact specification, and how long you take it for. What binds is your written quote.

These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the Porsche 718 Cayman

The fixed-roof 718. Mid-engined, two seats, rear-wheel drive, and the car most people mean when they say a Porsche should be about balance rather than outright power.

A mid-engined two-seat coupé at 300bhp. The least shouty car in this catalogue and, for a certain driver, the best one.

At a glance

  • Mid-engined layout, which is why it changes direction the way it does
  • 300bhp through the rear wheels with a seven-speed PDK gearbox
  • Two boots, front and rear, so it carries a weekend between two people
  • The usable end of this catalogue: narrow enough for a British B road and a multi-storey
  • Arranged through a vetted partner rather than held by us

What is the Porsche 718 Cayman like to drive?

Better than its power figure suggests, which is the whole argument for it. Putting the engine in the middle rather than behind the rear axle gives it a balance the 911 has always had to engineer around, and on a narrow road that matters far more than another hundred horsepower would. The steering is the best thing about it. It is quick without being nervous, and it tells you what the front tyres are doing in a way almost nothing else at this price does. The flat-four is the part people argue about: it is effective and it is not musical, and anyone who has driven the old flat-six will notice. Judge the car on the road rather than on the noise.

How much does it cost to lease a Porsche 718 Cayman?

The figure is confirmed against the specific car and the term, because this is a partner-arranged vehicle rather than one of ours, and there is no guide rate to publish for a car somebody else holds. The rest of the agreement is fixed and stated here: a three-month minimum, one month up front and the balance monthly, 1,000 miles a month, and £1.50 a mile over. The deposit and the insurance excess are both £3,000, which is the lowest pairing in this catalogue and reflects what the car is worth rather than any judgement about the driver. Tell us the dates and the figure comes back in writing.

Is the 718 Cayman practical enough to use every day?

More than anything else here. It has two boots, one under the bonnet and one behind the engine, and between them they take a weekend for two people without putting anything on a seat. It is narrow by modern standards, which makes it usable on a British lane and in a multi-storey where a Urus is an ordeal. The ride is firm but not punishing. The genuine limits are that there are two seats and no more, and that the rear boot is warm, so it is not where the shopping goes. As a car to run for three months rather than to borrow for a weekend, it is the most sensible choice in the catalogue.

Cayman or Boxster?

We hold both as options and they are the same car with a different roof. The Boxster is the convertible and is the one to take if the point is the open air. The Cayman is stiffer, quieter at speed, and has the larger usable boot, so it is the better car for distance and the better one in winter. Neither is faster than the other in any way you would notice. Choose on the roof, not on the numbers, and ask us about either.

Do you have this exact car?

No. The 718 Cayman is arranged through a vetted partner, which the badge on this page states, and availability for your dates is confirmed with them before anything is agreed rather than promised here. That is also why there is no price on this page. The images are representative studio renderings of the model rather than photographs of an individual car, as they are across this site.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your lease.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can lease rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about leasing the Porsche 718 Cayman

Can you lease a Porsche 718 Cayman in the UK?

Yes, on a three-month minimum with 1,000 miles a month included and delivery anywhere in mainland Britain. It is arranged through a partner rather than held by us, so your dates are confirmed with them first and the monthly figure arrives with that confirmation.

How fast is the 718 Cayman?

The 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four makes 300bhp, which is good for about 4.9 seconds to 62mph and roughly 170mph. Those are not the numbers that sell this car. It is quicker across a real road than a more powerful rival because of how it is balanced, not because of what the engine makes.

Is the 718 Cayman a good first performance car?

It is one of the easier ones to get along with. Rear-wheel drive and 300bhp is a manageable combination, the car tells you early what it is doing, and it is narrow enough not to be intimidating on a British road. The minimum age here is 28 with three years of full licence, which is lower than most of this catalogue.

How much luggage does the 718 Cayman take?

Two boots between them take a weekend for two people, one under the bonnet and one behind the engine. The rear one sits above the engine and gets warm, so it suits bags rather than food. Nothing needs to go on the passenger seat, which is not true of every two-seat car here.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the leasing company, not a middleman. The monthly figure shown is ours and it is confirmed, and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, which is why it carries no published monthly figure and reads "on request": we do not hold a confirmed price for a car nobody has confirmed yet. We come back to you with the figure and the availability together, before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

We cannot tell you until a partner has quoted it, which is exactly why no figure is published against one. It is not automatically dearer than an equivalent car in our own fleet. You get the figure in writing before you commit to anything, and it does not move afterwards.

Tell us the car and how long. We’ll confirm the figure.

The car you want, roughly how long, and the town you are in — that is all we need to start. Someone here comes back with the monthly figure and the whole cost, initial payment, deposit, excess and mileage included.
