These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the McLaren GT

It is a 612bhp mid-engined car with 570 litres of luggage space across two compartments, which makes it the only supercar here that will take a set of golf clubs. Dates are confirmed with a partner first.

McLaren's attempt at a usable everyday car: mid-engined and 203mph capable, but with a long rear luggage deck over the engine.

At a glance

  • 612bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 203mph
  • 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds
  • 570 litres of luggage across front and rear compartments
  • Softest suspension McLaren fits to a road car
  • Longer mileage allowance than the 750S or Artura

What makes the GT different from other McLarens?

Luggage space and ride quality. There is a 420-litre deck behind the cabin above the engine, plus a 150-litre front boot, so two people can pack properly for a week. The suspension is softer, the cabin quieter and the driving position slightly higher. It is still mid-engined, still on a carbon tub, and still runs to 203mph.

Is it the right car for a long UK drive?

It is the best supercar here for it. Mileage allowances are looser at around 12,000 miles a year, the seats are comfortable over several hours, and it will sit at motorway speed without shouting. If your plan is Cornwall or the Highlands rather than a single evening, this is the sensible choice.

What does it cost to hire?

A refundable deposit near £7,500 and a similar excess apply. Excess mileage runs at about £3 a mile. Delivery to a mainland UK address is quoted separately.

Is the GT slower than a 750S?

Only in the sense that everything is. It reaches 62mph in 3.2 seconds against 2.8 for the 750S and tops out at 203mph. On a public road the difference is largely academic; what you notice instead is that the GT is more comfortable and far easier to load.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the McLaren GT

Can you hire a McLaren GT in the UK?

Yes, on a sourced basis. We arrange it through partners rather than supplying it ourselves, and we confirm a named car against your dates before anything is agreed.

How much luggage fits in a McLaren GT?

Around 570 litres in total — a 150-litre front boot and a 420-litre deck behind the seats. That is enough for two large soft bags and a set of golf clubs.

Is the McLaren GT four-wheel drive?

No, it is rear-wheel drive. It is mid-engined with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, so cold or wet conditions deserve some care in the first few miles.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the rental company, not a middleman. The rate shown is our rate and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, so the price shown is a guide and the availability is subject to confirmation. We confirm both with you before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

Not necessarily, but its rate is a guide until the partner confirms it. We come back to you with the confirmed figure before you commit — the price never changes on the day.

Tell us the dates. We’ll confirm the car.

Send us the dates and a delivery postcode — that is all we need to start. Someone here will come back to you with what is genuinely available and the full cost, deposit, excess and mileage included.
