These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the BMW M4 Competition xDrive

It makes 523bhp from a twin-turbo straight-six and reaches 62mph in 3.5 seconds. A specific car and your dates are confirmed with a partner first.

The most affordable way into serious performance here. A 523bhp straight-six with four-wheel drive that can be switched to pure rear-wheel drive.

At a glance

  • 523bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six
  • 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds with xDrive
  • Four-wheel drive with a selectable pure rear-drive mode
  • Four seats and a 440-litre boot
  • Lowest monthly figures and loosest terms in this catalogue

Is the M4 fast enough to feel special?

Yes. 523bhp and 3.5 seconds to 62mph puts it within a second of cars costing three times as much to hire, and the straight-six is one of the great modern engines — smooth, endlessly flexible and happy to 7,200rpm. What it lacks is exotic-car theatre, which for a lot of people is exactly the point.

What does xDrive change?

It makes the car usable in British weather. Four-wheel drive gets the power down cleanly on a cold morning, and there is a 2WD mode that disconnects the front axle entirely for anyone who wants the rear-drive experience. Rear-drive M4s exist too but are far less common in hire circulation and less forgiving in the wet.

What does it cost to hire?

A refundable deposit near £2,500 and a matching excess are typical. Mileage is 12,000 miles a year with about £1.50 a mile beyond. It is the least expensive car we list, and the easiest to qualify for.

Who is it right for?

Anyone testing whether a performance car actually suits their week, a younger driver who does not meet the age criteria for a supercar, or a first hire before committing to a bigger monthly figures. It is also a common second car on multi-car bookings, where one person needs a supercar and everyone else needs to keep up.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the BMW M4 Competition xDrive

Can you hire a BMW M4 in the UK?

Yes, on a sourced basis. We arrange it through partners rather than supplying it ourselves, and we confirm a named car against your dates before anything is agreed.

How old do I need to be to hire a BMW M4?

Typically 25, with three years of full licence held and no more than six penalty points. That makes it one of the few performance cars available to drivers in their mid-twenties.

Does the M4 have back seats?

Yes, two proper rear seats and a 440-litre boot. Adults fit for shorter journeys, which is more than most cars in this catalogue can claim.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the rental company, not a middleman. The rate shown is our rate and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, so the price shown is a guide and the availability is subject to confirmation. We confirm both with you before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

Not necessarily, but its rate is a guide until the partner confirms it. We come back to you with the confirmed figure before you commit — the price never changes on the day.

Tell us the dates. We’ll confirm the car.

Send us the dates and a delivery postcode — that is all we need to start. Someone here will come back to you with what is genuinely available and the full cost, deposit, excess and mileage included.
