Length and the back seat. The Maybach adds roughly 18cm of wheelbase, almost all of it rear legroom, and replaces the rear bench with two individual reclining chairs that heat, cool and massage. There is a folding table for each, a cooler between them and thicker acoustic glass. Mechanically it is an S-Class with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, so it is quicker as well as quieter.
Is the Maybach the right car for a wedding?
It is the obvious one, provided the driving is understood. This is a self-drive lease, so the person named on the agreement drives and we do not supply a chauffeur. What the car gives you is a rear cabin that photographs well, doors that close themselves and a ride quiet enough that conversation carries at motorway speed.
