These figures are provisional
The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.
The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria
About the McLaren 765LT
Only 765 coupes were built. It carries a 755bhp twin-turbo V8, weighs around 80kg less than the 720S it is based on, and reaches 62mph in 2.8 seconds. Availability is strictly by request.
The 765LT is the stripped-out Longtail version of McLaren's Super Series, built in strictly limited numbers for drivers who wanted the hardest edge McLaren offered.
At a glance
- 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 755bhp, rear-wheel drive
- 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds, 205mph top speed
- Around 80kg lighter than the 720S it is based on
- Only 765 coupes built worldwide
- Carbon-fibre panels, titanium exhaust and thinner glass
What does LT stand for on a McLaren?
Longtail. The name goes back to the extended-tail F1 GTR racing cars of the 1990s, and McLaren now applies it to the hardest version of a given model. An LT gets more power, less weight, more aggressive aerodynamics and shorter gearing. The 765LT is the Longtail version of the 720S, and it is a noticeably more serious car.
How is the 765LT different from a 720S?
Power rises to 755bhp, roughly 80kg comes out through carbon-fibre panels, a titanium exhaust and thinner glass, and the gearing is shortened so it accelerates harder between corners. The suspension is stiffer, the front track wider and the aerodynamics generate more downforce. On the road it is louder and firmer; on a circuit it is a different proposition entirely.
Is it comfortable enough for road use?
Less so than a 720S, and that is deliberate. The seats are thinner, there is less sound deadening and the ride is firm over poor surfaces. It remains usable — the nose lifts to clear speed bumps and the cabin is dry and civilised — but the 765LT was built around a circuit and it never entirely stops reminding you of that.
What does a 765LT cost to hire?
A refundable £30,000 deposit and a £25,000 insurance excess apply, with 12,000 miles a year included and £8 a mile beyond. With only 765 coupes built, we confirm a specific car with the supplying partner rather than promising a model.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.
If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the McLaren 765LT
Can I hire a McLaren 765LT in the UK?
We can source one, subject to confirmation. Only 765 coupes were built worldwide and few are offered for hire, so we check availability against your dates before quoting anything firm.
How rare is the 765LT?
The coupe was limited to 765 cars globally, with a separate run of 765 Spiders. That is small even by McLaren standards, and it is why the car is arranged by request rather than listed as available stock.
Is the 765LT suitable for a track day?
It is one of the few road cars genuinely designed for it. Track use has to be agreed in advance, because it changes both the insurance position and the wear terms. Tell us the circuit and the date and we will confirm what the supplying partner allows.
