These figures are provisional

The deposit, the excess and the mileage terms for this car come from our catalogue data, and we are confirming that data with the insurer while the fleet is finalised. Read them as the shape of the terms rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement, and we check the specific car against the specific driver before you plan around it.

The deposit is refundable and held against a card in the hirer's own name at handover — it is not taken online and it is not part of the rate. Deposits, excess and driver criteria

About the BMW M5

The current car is a plug-in hybrid making 717bhp, reaching 62mph in 3.5 seconds while seating five and running about 40 miles on electricity alone. Dates are confirmed with a partner before anything is committed.

The M5 is now a 717bhp plug-in hybrid. It is heavier than before and considerably faster, and it will still do the school run in silence.

At a glance

  • 717bhp plug-in hybrid V8, 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds
  • Around 40 miles of electric-only range
  • M xDrive four-wheel drive with a rear-drive mode
  • Five seats and a 466-litre boot
  • Generous 150-mile daily allowance

What is the hybrid M5 like?

Enormously fast and surprisingly civil. The electric motor sits inside the gearbox, filling in below 2,500rpm so the V8 never feels caught out, and there is a proper electric mode for town. It weighs around 2.4 tonnes, which you feel changing direction, but the M xDrive system and rear-wheel steering hide most of it on a real road.

Why hire an M5 rather than a supercar?

Because it does everything. Five seats, a 466-litre boot, four-wheel drive, and performance that is academically close to cars costing four times the monthly figure. For a working week where you have client meetings, a family dinner and a long motorway leg, the M5 is the pragmatic choice. It is also the least conspicuous fast car here.

What does it cost to hire?

A refundable deposit near £2,500 and a similar excess are typical. Mileage is 12,000 miles a year with about £1.50 a mile beyond, which is among the most generous in this catalogue.

Why is it limited to 155mph?

German manufacturers apply a voluntary 155mph limiter. The M Driver's Package raises it to around 190mph on cars specified with it. On UK roads the number is irrelevant; what matters is that it reaches 62mph in 3.5 seconds and pulls hard from any speed you are legally allowed to use.

These are insurance conditions for this vehicle, not preferences, so we check them when you enquire rather than on the doorstep.

Provisional. The age, licence period, points tolerance, deposit and excess above are being confirmed with the insurer while the fleet is finalised — read them as the shape of the criteria, not as a decision on your hire.

If you are under the minimum age for this car, or short on licence years, say so when you enquire. We will point you at something you can hire rather than let you find out on the day.

Questions about hiring the BMW M5

Can you hire a BMW M5 in the UK?

Yes, on a sourced basis. We arrange it through vetted partners rather than supplying it from our own fleet, and we confirm a specific car and your dates before anything is agreed.

Does the M5 need charging?

No. It works as a normal hybrid without ever being plugged in. Charging simply restores around 40 miles of electric range, which is useful for city centres and clean-air zones.

What is the minimum age to hire an M5?

Typically 25, with three years of full licence held and no more than six penalty points. The supplying partner sets the criteria and we check yours before quoting anything.

How sourcing a car works

What does "in our fleet" mean?

It is our car. We own it, we insure it, we maintain it and we deliver it — we are the rental company, not a middleman. The rate shown is our rate and the availability is real.

What does "we can source" mean?

That car is not one of ours. We arrange it through a vetted partner, so the price shown is a guide and the availability is subject to confirmation. We confirm both with you before anything is agreed.

Why show cars you do not own?

Because the alternative is pretending we own them. Our own fleet is finite and the range people want is wider, so we list both and label which is which. You can see the full choice and know exactly what you are getting.

Is a sourced car more expensive?

Not necessarily, but its rate is a guide until the partner confirms it. We come back to you with the confirmed figure before you commit — the price never changes on the day.

Tell us the dates. We’ll confirm the car.

Send us the dates and a delivery postcode — that is all we need to start. Someone here will come back to you with what is genuinely available and the full cost, deposit, excess and mileage included.
