## What separates a luxury saloon from an executive car?

Mostly the rear half and the drivetrain. Both have four doors, but a luxury saloon is specified around the back seat, with legroom measured for adults, its own climate controls, and glass and insulation chosen to keep road noise out. It rides on air or adaptive suspension rather than a fixed setup, and the engine is usually a size up on anything the badge sells in volume. The result is a car as good to be driven in as to drive.

## Saloon or SUV, if four people have to fit?

Take the saloon if most of the miles are motorway, if you care how the car drives, or if it will be parked somewhere tight. Take the SUV if anyone needs to climb in rather than drop in, if the boot has to swallow awkward shapes, or if the surface is not always tarmac. A saloon is the lower, quieter, better-handling car and an SUV is the more practical one. Both are here, and the honest answer depends on the week rather than on the badge.

## Does a saloon work as a business lease?

It is the category most often taken that way. Four doors and a proper boot make it usable for client work in a way a two-door cannot manage, and a six-month minimum term suits a contract or a project with a known end date. We take business enquiries on the same form as personal ones: say it is a company agreement at the enquiry stage and the quote comes back on that basis.

## How is luxury saloon leasing priced?

One monthly figure on a six-month minimum term, two months up front and then one a month, with 12,000 miles a year included. Cars in our own fleet carry a confirmed figure. The rest read "on request" until the partner confirms the car, because a rate we have not been given is not a rate we will print. The deposit, the insurance excess and the pence-per-mile beyond the allowance are all stated before you enquire rather than after.

## Driver criteria for this category

## Frequently asked questions

### Will three adults fit across the back?

For a short journey, usually. For a long one, two is the comfortable number in most cars in this class, because the transmission tunnel and the rear centre console take up the middle seat on a lot of them. Rear dimensions are listed on each vehicle page, and if the third seat matters, say so and we will point you at the cars that genuinely manage it.

### Is the boot big enough for golf clubs or a pram?

In most of them, yes, though a saloon boot is a fixed aperture rather than an open load bay, so long or tall items can be awkward where an estate or an SUV would not be. Boot capacity is on every vehicle page. If you are carrying something specific and unusual, tell us what it is at the enquiry stage rather than finding out on delivery day.

### What mileage allowance do I get?

Twelve thousand miles a year as standard, with a pence-per-mile charge beyond it stated on each car's page. This is the category most likely to be used for a real commute, so it is worth doing the sums before you commit: if your year looks more like 20,000 miles, say so at the enquiry stage and we will price the extra mileage in rather than let you meet it on an invoice.

### Are these cars available on a shorter term?

Six months is the shortest agreement we write, on every car in the catalogue. We do not offer short-term hire. If you need a car for a matter of weeks we are the wrong supplier, and we would rather say so now than take the enquiry.
