# What does a prestige car lease include?

**A prestige lease here includes the car for an agreed term of 3 months or more, 1,000 miles a month, delivery anywhere in mainland Britain (or collection by you) and the return at the end. It does not include fuel or charge, the refundable security deposit, charges you incur, or mileage above the allowance. The insurance arrangement is confirmed in writing before signing.**

The full scope of an agreement here — the car, the term, the mileage, the delivery — and an honest list of everything that is not inside the monthly figure.

## What the monthly figure covers

The vehicle, for the whole of the agreed term, with the figure fixed for that term.
A minimum term of 3 months, structured as one month up front, then one a month.
1,000 miles a month, the included allowance on every agreement.
Delivery to the address you choose, anywhere in mainland Britain.
Collection at the end, from an address you choose — it does not have to be the delivery address.
A named contact for the length of the term, rather than a ticket queue.

A monthly figure is never published on this site without the term it is written on beside it. Omitting the term is the half-truth this sector is criticised for, and it is the reason every price here is a from price on a stated minimum term.

## What sits outside the monthly figure

Fuel or charge. Yours for the term, and returned at the level the car went out at.
The security deposit. Refundable, separate money, held against a card in the hirer's own name — £1,500 to £50,000 across the catalogue.
Mileage above the allowance, charged per mile at the rate published on the car's page: 95p to £10.
Damage, up to the insurance excess on a covered claim.
Charges you incur. Congestion Charge, ULEZ, tolls, parking, and any penalty issued while the car is with you.
Your own belongings left in the car.

None of that is unusual for a lease. What is unusual is printing it before the enquiry form rather than in a document you see after you have committed.

## Is insurance included?

Do not assume it either way, and be wary of anyone who answers that question casually. The arrangement that applies to your car is confirmed with you in writing before anything is agreed, and on a car arranged through a partner it is set by whoever holds the vehicle.

What is true in every case is the mechanism. The excess is your maximum contribution towards a repair on a claim the policy covers, and it climbs with the car: £1,500 to £35,000 across the catalogue and £2,000 to £10,000 on our own fleet. An unnamed driver is not insured at all, which is why nobody can be added at the kerbside.

[Insurance and excess](https://performanceandprestige.co.uk/insurance) carries the live position, and it is the page to read before the agreement rather than after an incident.

## What about servicing, tyres and maintenance?

The position for your car is set out in your agreement before delivery, and it is worth reading that section rather than assuming the market norm applies. Terms of this length sit in an awkward middle: too short for a scheduled service on most cars, long enough for tyres and consumables to become a real question.

What we will not do is tell you in a guide that a cost is covered when the answer depends on the specific vehicle and, on a partner-sourced car, on the partner. That is precisely the sort of claim that reads well on a page and collapses at collection.

Ask the question at the quote stage. It is a two-minute answer and it belongs in writing alongside the monthly figure.

## How is the deposit different from the excess?

They are different money and conflating them is how people end up feeling misled.

The deposit is held for the term and returned at the end once the car is checked. You always get it back unless something is properly deducted from it. The excess is a liability limit: you only ever meet it if there is damage, and it caps your contribution to a repair on a claim the policy covers.

On some vehicles the two figures match and on others they do not, which is one more reason to read both on the specific car's page rather than working from a rule of thumb. [Deposits explained](https://performanceandprestige.co.uk/guides/supercar-hire-deposits-explained) covers the deposit in full.

## What can be deducted at the end?

Four things, and nothing else: miles above the allowance, fuel or charge not replaced, damage up to the excess, and any charge or penalty incurred while the car was with you.

Everything in that list is measurable, and all of it is measured at both ends of the agreement. Fuel or charge and mileage are recorded at handover and again at collection, and the car is photographed both times by us and by you.

Fair wear and tear is not damage. Road film, brake dust and the tyre wear of normal use over your term are expected. A kerbed rim, a cracked screen or a scraped splitter are not, and they are assessed against the photographs rather than against anybody's memory.

## What is included in delivery and collection?

Both, to and from addresses you choose within mainland Britain. There is no depot to collect from and nothing to drive away from a forecourt, which on a wide, low car is a feature rather than a limitation.

Northern Ireland and the islands are outside the area. That is a hard boundary rather than a starting position, and it is better known before a quote than after one.

What is needed at your end is somewhere the transporter can legally stand for a few minutes, and someone present — the named driver, in person, with the physical licence. [Delivery and collection](https://performanceandprestige.co.uk/delivery) sets out the whole arrangement.

## What is not part of the agreement at all?

Track use, competitive or timed driving of any kind. Taking the car outside mainland Britain without it being agreed in advance and in writing. Anyone driving who is not named and checked. Any unlawful use.

These are not fine-print traps to be negotiated at the margin. An excluded event is not a bigger bill than a covered one — it is a different situation entirely, because the excess stops being a ceiling and the liability becomes the whole cost.

[The agreement terms](https://performanceandprestige.co.uk/rental-terms) carry the full list, and they are published rather than sent after signature.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I take the car abroad?

Only if it is agreed in advance and in writing. Delivery and collection cover mainland Britain, and taking a car outside that area without agreement affects both the agreement and the cover position. Ask before you book the crossing, not after.

### Does the monthly figure ever change during the term?

No. The figure quoted in writing for your car, term and mileage is fixed for the whole term. What can vary at the end is what is settled against the allowance and the condition of the car, and both of those are measured rather than estimated.

### Is breakdown assistance included?

The arrangement for your car is set out in your agreement before delivery. Ask at the quote stage and have the answer in writing; it is not something to infer from the price or from what is usual elsewhere.

### What happens if I want a second driver?

They are named before delivery and checked in their own right against that vehicle’s age, licence and endorsement criteria. There is no way to add somebody at the roadside, because an unnamed driver is uninsured rather than merely unauthorised.

### Is VAT included in the figures on this site?

Yes. Every figure here, published or quoted, is inclusive of VAT. If you are leasing through a business, ask for the quote in whatever form your finance team needs, and take the accounting treatment up with your accountant rather than with us.

*Pre-launch note: the driver criteria, deposits, excesses and mileage allowances quoted here are read from Performance & Prestige's own catalogue data, which is still being confirmed with the owner and the insurer. Read them as the shape of the figures rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your agreement.*
