## What is the Artura Spider like to drive?

Quieter and more civilised than a 750S without giving much away. The hybrid motor removes turbo lag entirely, so throttle response at low revs is immediate. In electric mode it will cover about 21 miles silently, which makes early departures from a hotel or a residential street far less antisocial than a V8 supercar.

## Does the roof cost anything in performance?

Almost nothing. Because the structure is a carbon tub rather than a steel or aluminium shell, McLaren does not have to add reinforcement when the roof comes off. The Spider is around 62kg heavier than the coupé and matches it to 62mph. The rear screen also lowers independently, so you can hear the engine with the roof up.

## What are the guide rates?

A refundable deposit near £10,000 and an equivalent excess are typical. Mileage runs at 12,000 miles a year with about £4 a mile beyond. All figures are confirmed in writing before you decide anything.

## Does it need to be charged?

No. It works as a normal hybrid and charges itself while driving. Plugging in simply gives you the electric-only range back. If you do want to charge it, a standard three-pin cable is supplied and a full charge takes around two and a half hours from a home wallbox.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you hire a McLaren Artura Spider in the UK?

Yes, on a sourced basis. We arrange it through vetted partners and confirm a specific car and your dates before anything is agreed. We do not hold one on our own fleet.

### Is the Artura Spider automatic?

Yes — an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddles. There is no clutch pedal and no reverse gear in the gearbox; reversing is handled by the electric motor.

### How quickly does the roof open?

Eleven seconds, and it will operate at up to 31mph, so you can drop it as you pull away rather than sitting in a car park waiting.

*Performance & Prestige hires vehicles from its own fleet and, where a vehicle is not one of ours, arranges it through a vetted partner. Cars marked "we can source" are subject to confirmation before anything is agreed. Rates include VAT. Nothing is booked or paid for through this website: a person confirms the car, the full cost and the delivery slot with you first.*

*Pre-launch note: the rates, driver criteria, deposits, excesses and mileage allowances quoted here are read from Performance & Prestige's own catalogue data, which is still being confirmed with the owner and the insurer. Read them as the shape of the figures rather than as a quotation. What binds is your written quote and your hire agreement.*
